Sometimes the simple things are the very best to me. While I was walking on the indoor track today at the gym I go to, there was a sweet older lady who made a comment in the past to me about my body and thinking back to when she was younger. She stopped me again today and we walked a few laps together and she preceded to tell me how long she has been sober and in AA and the accident that led her to finally stop drinking. I had always wondered when I would see her why she walked with a heavy limp. She was injured severely while she was drinking and driving. That was when she hit bottom and realized she had to change her life for herself and her children. It was such a good talk and was a very strong reminder for me to not drink and drive and to live life to the fullest. Even though she is crippled now I always see her walking and trying her best with a smile. If you are given a second chance like that, run with it and its never too late for change.
